Add Custom Shortcut to your iPhone or iPad
Adding a custom website shortcut to your iPhone, or iPad, to your home screen is slightly different that an Android device. There are many reasons you might want to add a website shortcut to your mobile device. For our Reputation Marketing customers the best reason is to add a custom link to their Sign-In Form Tool. With this Tool they can now simply ask customers to sign-in and let the system reach out and ask for Feedback and Reviews.
Simple 3-Step Process:
Adding a shortcut works similar to creating a favorite on your iPhone with a bonus of adding a icon on your home screen like an app. The best part is there is no special code or app needed to do this, but you will need to use your Safari Browser for the process. This simple tutorial is made for website shortcuts on your iPhone or iPad while using iOS8 or iOS9.
NOTE: Website shortcuts you create on the iPhone or iPad will ONLY open in Safari, which can be an issue if you use another browser like Google Chrome.
STEP 1: Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad and then type the URL of the website you want to make a shortcut for in the address bar.
STEP 2: Once you see the website page you want tap the “Share” button at the bottom of the screen. When you tap the Share button you will get a pop-up menu option “Add to Home Screen”. Select “Add to Home Screen” and continue to step #3.
STEP 3: You will now be at a page that allows you to select a name for your shortcut. Be sure to keep the name short, or abreviate it so it fits on your iPhone or iPad home screen. If you are making a shortcut for your personalized signin form we recommend simply “Sign In Form”. When you are done tap “Add” in the upper right corner.
Congratulations … your icon should now appear on your home screen, next to your apps. If you press and hold down on the shortcut you will be able to move where it is located, just like you do with an app. Now you have fast access to your Sing-In Form and can begin building your 5 Star Reputation FAST, simply by asking your customers to sign-in.
